Maybe they…

1) did not see your text/message
2) did not know how to respond to your text/message – so they are choosing not to respond
3) did not know how to respond to your text/message – so they are thinking about how to respond
4) are not interested in the subject matter of your text

Do they know the text is supposed to have a response?

No

Would they have just responded with a “That’s cool.” or “That’s nice.”?
If so, maybe they don’t think your message needs a response.

You could contact them and ask them how they are doing.
