September/October 2024 Caravan Details
September 28, 2024 Saturday – We explored some back roads around Lake Mary. We drove by Upper Lake Mary, Lower Lake Mary, and Marshall Lake, all south of Flagstaff, Arizona.
September 29, 2024 Sunday – We moved camp to Happy Jack, Arizona We explored T-bar ranch and Stoneman lake, near Happy Jack! (The history of Happy Jack is here. )
September 30, 2024 Monday – Located in Happy Jack, Arizona! A relaxing day off. 🙂

October 1, 2024 Tuesday
.move to another 30 minutes south to dispersed camping, near Wingfield, Arizona.
.check out Happy Jack Lodge & RV Park – GMaps, website, Open: 8 am to 5pm, daily, – they have a general store with grocery items, food, clothing, etc. video , dump station $28 *, water $0.20 per gallon*, Trash $6 per bag * , propane refill stations, guest post office, showers and laundry for guests only *,
.check out Jack’s Place Restaurant at Happy Jack Lodge – open Friday & Saturday 11:30 am to 8:30pm, Sunday 10:30 am to 2:30 pm, menu here (opens for paid season 4/19/2024 to 9/30/2024)
. explore Clints Well Campground – GMaps – after 9/18/2024 it is FREE to camp there! Tent camping only. Very small spots.
.get gas and explore Mustang Gas station, GMaps – they have a fun old Coca-cola machine there! The post office is right next to it, also.
October 2, 2024 Wednesday
. We drove to the C.C. Cragin boat ramp. Gmaps
.the Rock Crossing Campground (Gmaps, FSwebsite) was closed. (Their web site said closed 9/23. Opens in early May again*. The gates were closed leading to it. 10/2/2024
.drive to and explore the Rock Crossing Campground Gmaps , CC Cragin Reservoir and dam, GMaps dam,
.drove to the C.C. Cragin dam and explore it! It was very cool! VERY rocky road after the boat ramp area, though. Almost only one lane. And, no turn around after the boat ramp.

hike Clover Creek Trail, Trailhead here, AllTrails, – 4.2 mile out and back trail, moderately challenging route. Fantastic rocks and view in the canyon!
October 6, 2024 Sunday
.explore Strawberry, Arizona, Gmaps – day trip! Walk around some shops! Eat some breakfast or lunch.

The Herb Shop* – Pine, AZ, GMaps, Hours: 10am to 5 pm. closed Monday

.There was a Pine-Strawberry festival this weekend!
.I walked up and down the street and went in to many different stores, places, and chatted with many locals! A great day!
