What is the history of The Steps?
March 2023 – Another camper said a multi-billionaire older man in his 80s had started this development to be a campground. The project was shut down in the bad economy of 2008?. Then the multi-billionaire died. His family gave it to the Arizona State Land Trust to manage it.
This story is all per this fellow camper lady. 🙂 So take it with a grain of salt.

Anita and The Steps
Anita camped here in March 2023. My awesome, favorite spot was: 34.334921, -114.134349, on top of the mountain! A great view up there!
Anita camped here again in April 2023. At this spot. I had no need to go up to the top of the mountain this time.
