What are Heinz bodies?
Heinz bodies are clumps of damaged hemoglobin attached to red blood cells. (1)

How are Heinz bodies produced?
It is not fully clear how Heinz bodies form. (1)
but red blood cells have changed in their structure. (1) Which these changes, heme cannot join properly with globin, and the hemoglobin becomes unstable and damaged. (1)
These damaged hemoglobins attach to the red blood cells, which become stiff instead of soft and break in the spleen. (1)
the main reason Heinz bodies form is because of toxic injury from free radicals or chemicals that damage the blood cells. (1) This is called oxidative damage. (1)
