What is insulin?
Insulin is a type of hormone that all mammals have.
What does insulin do?
After a fast, when insulin rises it causes electrolytes to rush into the cells, and sodium to rush out of the cell and into the blood, that makes the blood diluted, and the volume of the blood increases, and this leads to heart failure (1)
Where does insulin come from?
insulin comes from the pancreas
What produced insulin?
produced by beta cells of the pancreas (2)
What increases insulin levels?
Carbohydrates cause a higher level of insulin rise, then protein, then fat last. (1)
