What is the iris?

What does the iris do?
The iris controls how much light the pupil lets in. (2)

Where is the iris located? 
The iris is located behind the anterior chamber. (1)
The iris is the colored part of the eye. (1)

What does the iris contain?
muscles
Muscles in the iris dilate (widen) or constrict (narrow) the pupil to control the amount of light reaching the back of the eye. (1)
