Pulpitis refers to inflammatioin of the pulp of a tooth, often due to an untreated cavity. (1)
What does pulpitis do?
causes extreme pain and sensitivity in the affected tooth (1)
it can eventually lead to an infection, causing an abscess in the root of the tooth (1)
